Delena Morrison, granddaughter of Absie Morrison, learned fiddle from her grandfather.

This Ozark Folk Center 50th Anniversary Legacy Photo is in

memory of my grandfather, Absie Morrison.

With love, Delena.

Growing up in the Ozark Mountains of Campbell, Arkansas, outside of Leslie I discovered the beauty of fiddle music. I had a famous Grandfather, Absie Morrison, who was an old-time fiddle player. He shared his love of fiddle music with me. By the time I was six years old, he started teaching me to play the fiddle. He even made a fiddle for me to play.

We had an opportunity to play in the early 1960's at several Spring folk festivals in Mountain View with other Morrison fiddlers. Absie traveled around the United States playing fiddle music, but he loved to play in Mountain. View.
